That is 0.07 seconds per query. How fast is your WordPress on your host? Go to three random post on your blog and copy-paste those values here in comments. I am trying to decide if I should switch web host.
Here are mine: (1) 29 queries. 1.562 seconds. (2) 29 queries. 4.205 seconds. (3) 29 queries. 0.891 seconds. On a local windows machine it is 13 queries in 0.311 seconds (0.024 seconds per query).
71 queries. 0.584 seconds.

Matt, do you mean simple db optimization or something more complex? If the former, then yes — I optimized the tables just yesterday.

serverstats: average 23.04 queries per 1 second. uptime: 266 days
<!– 35 queries. 0.360 seconds. –> I’am using Siteground hosting. I never optimized db and don’t know how to do. if you can explain it would be great :) by the way I did some performance improvement including closing etag, expire header, header cache control etc.

Ozh, thanks for reporting. Would you recommend changing the host? I am currently on mediatemple, but have bought a package at dreamhost. Are you using dreamhost’s VPS MySql or the shared one?

I have a free host at x10hosting (server = absolut) and my stats are: 28 queries. 0.266 seconds. It is fast enough I think.

I have already purchased a hosting package from Dreamhost (including a dedicated MySQL server) and I planing to move there early next year.
